How can you become a DE student?
How can you become a DE student?
Apply and Register
Complete the Application and Registration Packet
Remember these important points about applying and registering:
- Fill out the complete packet
- Include all applicable signatures
- Keep a copy of all paperwork submitted
- Start a Dual Enrollment file to keep all of your dual enrollment files
Before you turn in this paperwork, make sure you meet pre-requisites.
Many classes require pre-requisites. Pre-requisites help ensure that you are prepared to be successful in certain college classes. Talk with your high school counselor to make sure you have the appropriate placement scores on file. You can also reference the placement flow chart here:
GFC MSU manually registers DE students for classes. This means, you list the classes you want to take on the registration form and our staff programs you into those classes. Once you’re a regular college student at GFC MSU, you’ll register for classes on your own using an on-line system.
*If you are enrolling in an on-line or on-campus class, you must follow the Academic Calendar students.gfcmsu.edu/academiccalendar.html for all deadlines. Application and Registration/Release forms usually are due one week prior to the start of term.*
*If you are enrolling in Concurrent Dual Enrollment (college classes offered in your own high school), you will follow a different timeline. Application and Registration/Release forms are completed in your concurrent class at your high school within the first few weeks. Your teacher and counselor will give you instructions.
